Here are three testimonials from the many we receive! From
Bruce and Pat Copeland, Durango, Colorado.
“We live in the mountains seven miles from town, at eighty five hundred
feet elevation. After visiting with you and your wife in Quartzsite,
Arizona, we were inspired to try tire container gardening. We modified
your garden layout design by separating each row of containers with a
three-foot wide walkway covered with white gravel. The gravel reflects
the sun’s rays onto the black tires to increase heating. The fence is
to keep deer out. The garden worked out so well many of the neighbors
want to do it. Here are pictures of our garden and produce success.”

“We live on an island overlooking the Sacramento River. We get wind the
majority of the year and the soil is mostly sand and peat. This is our
vegetable garden. The fence is to protect the garden from the wind. As
you can see, we have used many different size tires, including tractor
tires, and the garden is thriving. The tires keep the compost and soil
warm and allows us to grow items in the winter as well.”

From Edna Roberts, Campton, California.
“We live in a forest and even though we cleared enough land for a
garden, it was too cool to grow enough vegetables to feed our family.
From your tire solar retaining method, we now produce an over-abundance
for our family, and sell the surplus to a local store. P.S., Thanks for
all the wonderful info, I’ll use it all.”

Many "Master Gardener" instructors teach from the "Tire Recycling Is Fun" book. They tell me there is more easily understood information about raised bed and vertical gardening and composting in this book than in any single book they have previously used. The physical and psychological benefits and the family and community bonding associated with home and communal gardening are well documented. Without the aid of discarded tires, gardening is available to only a fraction of those who wish to participate. Tire containers filled with homemade compost/growing medium are the only method of gardening that offers affordable, available, quality gardening to everyone. Rocky hillsides, ocean beaches, alkali flats, porches, patios, mobile home spaces, house boats, roof tops are examples of why everyone can't have gardens. No matter how limited their funds, how poor their existing soil, how limited or irregular the existing space, everyone can now have a garden. Everyone can now experience the joys of gardening. Tire containers are safe, sturdy and flexible. They can be held onto, leaned against or bumped into without injury to you or the container. They can be modified to accommodate anyone with poor balance, limited ability to bend over, stoop or reach; wheelchair confined; or even blind. Children and even the mentally challenged can enjoy gardening. The therapeutic value of making and painting one's own containers is priceless. The socio-economic and environmental
